I just listened to the Jeff Beck Group stuff referenced in the article... It must have been some good stuff someone was smoking, or I don't know... but I can't see how that performance could be considered that great.

Sounds real sloppy with some pretty cool parts here and there. Nothing to write home about though.

Excellent detective work, CC! sorta like the myth elb and I are kicking around in the other thread about 8-6-71 (in the "myth" sense only). I've always heard this "Beck blew them away!" biz, but no clue...

Thanks for this great referral!

This is one of the reasons I come here is for showing each other where the hidden gems reside.

Jeff Beck and the Yardbirds played in my High School gym in 67' I think it was, 6 years before I started school there.

I have always loved his unique blues style. So sweet to hear Rod Stewart sing some powerful blues vocals.

Oh yeah, does anyone know how to DL from SugarMegs with a Mac? I never had any problems with my PC but Mac doesn't like it.

I had to check out more of the extraordinary young female bass player,Tai Walkenfeld.

This is the best bass I've heard since , well Phil of coarse and then my favorite jazz player, Stanley Clarke.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this incredible Playa(sorry).

She will be performing with Beck & Clapton this spring, sure wish I could make the NYC shows.

I bought Quicktime Pro a few years back for my Mac. It allows you to save anything that opens with Quicktime once it downloads completely. The Sugar Megs link opens with Safari, just copy the URL and open up with Quicktime. Been worth the $29.00 to upgrade.

Thanks-- I am not happy about issues like this with my Mac, the PC was much easier as far as downloading was concerned.

Never had a PC, so guess I'm just used to getting around with the Mac. Before the last Safari upgrade you could download right from the window. Now there is an extra step with having to open the Quicktime, so not real happy about that. Saves the music files as movies instead of mp3. Very strange, but they still play. I convert them over to mp3 with ITunes and dump the movie files.

Somedays I really miss a turntable... Any record worked on any player...
